Founder & Chairman

Art Chapman founded JMA in 1986. There is no one more passionate about the people and places that make up JMA than Art. In his 30+ years of real estate management and development experience, Art has helped shape residential and commercial projects throughout the Western United States.

Prior to founding JMA, Art served as Vice President of Campeau Corporation California, a two billion-dollar real estate development company. He was responsible for the development of high-rise condominiums in West Los Angeles while working with redevelopment agencies in San Francisco, San Jose and Los Angeles on for rent apartments as well as, 333 Bush Street in San Francisco, a luxury condominium project. Prior to Campeau, Art spent 11 years with the City of Long Beach, as Executive Director of the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency and Director of Community Development focusing on historic building and high-rise oceanfront condominiums. Using this depth of experience, Art has also taught in the MBA program at the Center for Public Policy and Administration at California State University, Long Beach.

Education: BS in Finance from California State University, Long Beach. Graduate studies in Management and Public Administration at Cal State and at the University of Southern California.
